My New Digs

I know it's been a few weeks since I last posted. I've been on school holiday for a week and spent most of the time with my friends down at their farm in the land of dial-up. I'm back at my place and bought a couple of things to spruce the place up.

This is my bedroom. I didn't take a picture of the spare room, it's just full of boxes right now. But, I do have a spare room and it's available for whoever wants to use it.

All the furniture came from diferent people. I can't get over how people I just met who heard that I didn't have anything gave me a bed, table and chairs, a sofa, a fridge, and a bunch of little things like dishes, pots and pans and so many other things.

The little tv is in the corner by the window because it blew up last night. I had just had my dinner (cereal) and then the tv started sparking and hissing and smoking. It was quite a show - better than most of the shows they have here. Somehow, New Zealand has managed to get all the b-list tv shows from the states. So, now I can't watch shows that I never would have even thought about back in the states.

I hope mom and I can take you up on your offer of staying in the spare/guest room.

Ok, seriously. You fell for classic blunder no. 1. You know those nice people who gave you all that stuff? Do you realize that's just leftover stuff from other people who have come to visit and then have GONE HOME? Are you starting to get the idea here? (Your place looks lovely;) We'd be there in a heartbeat if it wasn't for Gapp daycare over here!

Hey Jenn, looks great! Maybe if there are two or three good years of milk prices we could afford to fly over and fill up your spare room for a while. :)
BTW, I was talking to Kathy last night and I heard a little something about you! You'll have to call me to find out!
I want to change my "secret identity"...but since I'm just a country bumpkin now, I don't know how to do it! ~Minnow

Hey Sweetie!! Sorry I haven't been a good friend lately and checking your blog. I dont have wireless at the apt. so I am limited to work or coffee shops. I love your new place, it's really cute! Sounds like people there are really generous. Man, I wish I could be a fly on the wall in your classroom. Di told me about your sweet teacher voice...lol! I remember you saying you were wondering how that would go with your harsh Baltimore accent. :) I miss you! We had a get together for Jeanette last wk.end. It was a going away/Birthday/she said it wasn't either of those because you know how humble the girl is. And the marathon was on Saturday. I pretended you and Amy were standing beside me cheering on Jeanette at the finish line, so you were there in spirit. I loved all your pics by the way especially the rugby game ones, they are hilarious. I would have been laughing alot at the game. And the sunsets are amazing there!! I can't call you by the way because I don't have international plan. I love you and miss you a lot!! Laura D.

Hey! I want a secret identity too. I love the pictures Jen. It looks so clean and clutter-free! You know, as opposed to my house. Just read in the paper about an earthquake in southern NZ. Of course I can't remember if you are in the south or north or east or west. I just know you are very far away. I am very jealous.
